Titanium is an exceptional material for a number of things, including fasteners, and they host a number of positives including corrosion resistance and strength alongside being lightweight.

In regards to its physical properties, titanium is held in high regard due to its strength-to-weight ratio. The metal is strong and relatively ductile. It has a high melting point, which makes it useful in a number of applications that could involve high heats. It is however not magnetic and does not conduct electricity or heat well, and without proper cooling methods can often gall when being machined.

Where can Titanium’s attributes be used?

The strength and low weight of Titanium make it exceptionally unique, and some grades of Titanium can be anywhere from two to four times stronger than some grades of Stainless Steel. These features make Titanium ideal in some aerospace, medical and military applications.

They are also resistant to a number of solutions, and Titanium Fasteners can often be found in saltwater environments making them perfect for industries like salination, oil and naval. They are resistant to almost every chlorine or chloride solution, including chlorite, hypochlorite, chlorate, perchlorate and chlorine dioxide. If the chlorine is used with the absence of water, or as a gas, this can cause rapid corrosion.
